Thoughtful, evidence-based psychological support for children, adolescents, and families.

We offer both therapy and assessment services, with flexible delivery options including clinic-based appointments and outreach to schools.

Our work is grounded in a trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and strengths-based approach

At Talking Heads Psychology, we provide thoughtful, evidence-based psychological support for children, adolescents, families, and adults. Our work is grounded in a trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and strengths-based approach, recognising that behaviour, emotions, and learning challenges are best understood in the context of a person’s development, functioning, relationships, and environment.

We offer both therapy and assessment services, with flexible delivery options including clinic-based appointments, telehealth, and outreach to schools.

Our therapeutic work supports young people experiencing emotional, behavioural, developmental, and relational difficulties. Therapy is tailored to each child’s developmental stage, communication style, sensory needs, and capacity for insight.

Bonnie has a strong focus on comprehensive psychological assessment, for children, adolescents and adults, where clarity is needed to guide support and planning.

Assessments may assist with:

  • Understanding learning and attention profiles
  • Clarifying diagnoses (e.g., recategorisation for pre-existing ASD diagnosis)
  • Supporting school adjustments and ILPs
  • Supporting occupational functioning
  • Informing therapy goals
  • Guiding referrals and next steps

Each assessment involves a comprehensive multi-method approach and may include interviews, observations, standardised measures, questionnaires from home, school, or workplaces, and document review. Feedback is provided in clear, practical language with meaningful recommendations.

Talking Heads Psychology is committed to neurodiversity-affirming practice. Differences in attention, communication, learning, and emotional expression are understood as variations of human experience—not deficits to be “fixed.”

Our trauma-informed approach recognises the impact of:

  • Early adversity
  • Chronic stress
  • Medical trauma
  • School-based stressors
  • Social exclusion or misunderstanding

Safety, predictability, choice, and collaboration are prioritised in all therapeutic and assessment work.
